Audio Book The Base Complete Series with FREE MOBI EDITION!

I tried reading this because there is a crossover book with CJ Bishop and I wanted to get caught up on the characters and story. I also saw the similarities in the storyline with Bishop’s Cowboy Gangster series and thought it might be good. Boy was I wrong. When I started the first story, there were a zillion characters and a huge back story. I thought that meant there were some previous books and I tried to find them. There were that I could find. The story is too convoluted without the back story. I decided to keep reading until I got caught up. I finally had to stop because of the terrible writing.Even if I could find an earlier book, I don’t know that I could survive the bad writing to read it. Every “ good guy” has the same voice, as does every “ bad guy”. The dialogue is incredibly formal, like English isn’t the writer’s primary language. That doesn’t sound too bad until you read it. A line like “I don’t know of whom you speak” might be grammatically correct, but no one talks that way! I hope The Island, the crossover book, isn’t ruined. I also hope Bishop doesn’t do another crossover with this author.
